October is looking like it will actually be a pretty busy month. I know that I personally was expecting to see more events get canceled, but I was way off.

On October 24, there is going to be a spooky and challenging race held in Amarillo benefiting meals on wheels. It's called Strata Stride, and it's being hosted by Strata Coffee Bar.

There are several options when it comes to what race you want to participate in. For the over achievers among us, there's the half marathon. Then, there's the four person relay. After that, there's the 2-mile candy walk, which sounds delicious and a little less demanding.

Two miles is still a lot though. It only takes a mile to get to know someone (as in "walk a mile in their shoes"...I'll see myself out).

It's going to be located at Strata Coffee Bar, which is on Outlook Drive. The race kicks off at 7:30 AM. So, not only do you probably want to be in some kind of shape for this thing, but you also need to be a "morning person."

All kidding aside, this event is benefiting a very worthy organization. The proceeds will go to benefit Meals On Wheels.

It's not just a foot-swelling run. There's also supposed to be live music, food trucks, and a costume contest. That's right...a costume contest. I wonder if we'll be seeing people run a half marathon in inflatable dinosaur costumes.

If you want more information on the run, you can check out the event page here.

Here are some tips for self-care during the pandemic:
