The school year is flying by. Spring break is going to be here before we know it, and then it will soon be time to start making summer camp preparations for your kids. Instead of waiting until the last minute, take advantage of summer camp registrations being open now for the Don Harrington Discovery Center. Summer camps at the DHDC are offered for children ages three through entering sixth grade. Camps begin the week of June 1st and will repeat weekly through July 24th. Each week will offer different themes for kids to explore in each age group.

Parents can expect a full week of fun for their kids at Discovery Center Summer Camps. Qualified teachers teach an updated science-based curriculum and each camp is jam-packed with science activities, crafts, exhibits, Space Theater shows and more. Children will make new friends and have a great time learning about science each week of camp. Three, four, and five year olds have a variety of themes to choose from that are offered as a half-day morning or afternoon camp, such as Storybook Science, Budding Builders, Pirate School, T-Rex Trouble and more. First and Second graders can learn about topics such as Forces of Nature, Gross Out, and Jam Session, to name a few. Third and fourth grade camp themes include Kitchen Craziness, Science of Magic, Vet Tech, and Tinkering Studio and a few more fun titles. The oldest campers, fifth and sixth graders, can enjoy more advanced camp topics such as Robotics, Digital Media Mayhem, Flight Training and Crime Scene Investigation among others.

Registration for each camp will remain open until they fill up. Some age groups and themes fill up fast, so parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration for DHDC Summer Camps can be made online at dhdc.org or in person at the Discovery Center during business hours. Phone reservations are not available. Don't wait until it's too late!
