BRUTAL HEAT IS HERE:

During the past week, we have seen the thermostat start to hit the mid-90s with the heat index starting to reach 107-1110 in some areas of the Crossroads.  Here is the problem with that, it isn't even Summer yet. Summer doesn't officially start until June 20th! Who is ready for the 'brutal' dog days of summer? High for the rest of the week will be in the mid-90s with the heat index over 100.

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER:

This year, the June solstice happens on Sunday, June 20, at 11:32 P.M. EDT. This date marks the official beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, occurring when Earth arrives at the point in its orbit where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt. Not only is the Soltice the start of summer. It is also the longest day of the year.  On the solstice, the Sun is at its highest point in the sky and it takes longer for it to rise and to set. On June 20th the sun will rise at 6:30 AM and will set at 8:29 PM. Giving us 13 hours 58 minutes and 56 seconds of daylight.
