The $113M Downtown Revitalization Project Has Been Approved By The Amarillo Board

The downtown revitalization project was approved by the Amarillo board on Wednesday.

For years now it has been a project that has to be done, for some people at least. Not everyone was exited to hear that the Amarillo board was going to use taxpayers money to "revitalize" downtown Amarillo.

Some people think that just adding on to the Civic Center and remodeling the Amarillo Sox baseball stadium would have been just fine. But the City of Amarillo thinks this is what needs to be done to draw more attractions to Amarillo.

The project will cost $113M to fund. It will bring a $70 Million dollar convention center hotel, a 30.3 Million dollar stadium and a $14 million dollar parking garage.
