After a year of having to postpone events and figure out how to work around social distancing and Covid-19 restrictions, the annual Blaze Coffee Benefit Ride is back on. The ride has been rescheduled for this Saturday, September 19, starting at 9am. This is the 9th year for this annual event.

This ride is in memory of Blaze Coffee, who died at the young age of 20 due to complications from a serious industrial accident. After his accident, Blaze was rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital, where over the course of 28 days, he received numerous transfusions. The family says they lost count after 68. While Blaze succumbed to his injuries, the family says that without the blood and platelet donations, they wouldn't have been able to spend those 28 days with their son. Once again, this year's ride is being put on by the Panhandle Wild Hogs, with 100% of proceeds going to Coffee Memorial to help with a new bloodmobile.

The first bike out will be at 9am from the Carson County Ag Barn. From there, riders will head to Clint & Sons in White Deer, then to the park in Pampa near where the animal shelter is, then to Antelope Creek Leather in Borger, and back to Panhandle to eat lunch and draw for prizes. The length of the ride will be just under 90 miles.

The entry fee is $25 per rider (paid by cash or check only day of ride) and you will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt, can koozie, hot dog lunch, and a chance at some great door prizes. There will also be a 50/50 pot and gun raffles, so be sure to bring some extra cash.
