Thieves have been working over time. This one though is either really brave, or just plain dumb. For a few reasons.

The Alleged Thief Pulled A Caper In Broad Daylight

Usually you'd expect a thief to wait for the cover of darkness to pull off a heist. Rarely do you see it happen in broad daylight. This was one of those rare occasions.

It's unfortunate for the suspected thief that the sun was out shining so brightly. It made it really easy to see what they look like.

The Supposed Thief Didn't Do Their Homework

In all of the greatest heist movies, there's a cool montage where the thieves do their homework. They case the joint. They take notes. They learn routines.

This individual would have known that the weed eater they made off with didn't work, if they had done their homework. While I seriously doubt that all they want is to take care of a little yard work, they definitely won't be getting top dollar for it.

Speaking Of Homework, The Thief Didn't Do Much About The Cameras

As you can see in the video, this individual wasn't too concerned about the possibility of cameras being present. Their license plate is in full view...clear as day, which is partially because this happened while the sun was out.

Thankfully the cameras did get a nice shot of this person doing the "don't be suspicious, but be suspicious" shuffle as they awkwardly gallop-walked to where the broken weed eater was.

If you know of anything, be sure to reach out to proper authorities. Of course, and it should go without saying but we have to anyway, all persons are innocent until proven guilty.

However, with footage like this it doesn't look too good.

You'd think having your mugshot taken would be far from one of your finer moments.....but these inmates prove that you can always turn that frown upside down.

Amarillo On 'America's Most Wanted'

I was surprised to find out recently that we also have a bit of a history with the show America's Most Wanted.

Digging through old news articles, I found several separate occasions where Amarillo and America's Most Wanted crossed paths. It makes me wonder if there are some that I've missed.
