You may have heard the term "small but mighty" a few times in your life. Normally it's in reference to a smaller kid playing big in sports, but in this case, it's about our city.

Jeopardy! is one of, if not THE biggest game shows in the world. The amount of questions needed in order to run these shows over and over again is staggering, and thanks to the rich history of Amarillo, we've appeared on it numerous times.

Some of the questions have been dead giveaways and no-brainers. However, I was absolutely shocked at the number of Amarillo-related questions that ended up being "triple stumpers", meaning they just couldn't get it right.

Taking a look at some of the triple stumpers, I think the one that surprised me the most was the Springsteen question (dive on into the gallery if you want to know what I'm hinting at). I mean, if you know anything about Bruce Springsteen, you know he has a song called "Pink _________" (deliberately blanking that out for those of you who decided to finish reading before checking out the questions). That alone should've given it away. One person took a stab and answered "Thunderbirds", the other 2 just stared into space.

I'm not the best Jeopardy! player, I find myself staring at the ceiling a lot during the reading of the "question". But I can tell you though, I would have nailed all of these Amarillo ones. Let me hop on when it's full of questions like this, I know I could get it done!

Here's to Jeopardy! for giving the city our 15 minutes of fame.

Every Time Jeopardy! Asked a Question About Amarillo

Amarillo might not be a bustling urban metropolis, but it most certainly is full of quirky characters, unexpected treasures, and historical gems that fly under the radar. It should really be no surprise that our fair Yellow City has popped up more than a few times on Jeopardy!

What's that? How many times is "more than a few times"? Well, take al look and see for yourself.

Amarillo On 'America's Most Wanted'

I was surprised to find out recently that we also have a bit of a history with the show America's Most Wanted.

Digging through old news articles, I found several separate occasions where Amarillo and America's Most Wanted crossed paths. It makes me wonder if there are some that I've missed.
