I had a stint of about a year and a half working in the airline industry between radio jobs.

I became a regular cabin cleaning agent for a major airline company and later became a trainer.

It amazed me what people would leave behind on a plane. I think traveling can be stressful with going through TSA and trying to connect to another flight.

You tend to leave stuff behind, sometimes your most valuable thing.

Another factor is how long that flight is. If it's a long flight, the first thing you want to do is get off that plane. In the rush to get out and stretch your legs, it's easy to forget to check all around your seat and leave things.

It is a security issue for passengers to go back on a plane once they leave out, so the gate agent or staff member has to retrieve any items you suddenly remember leaving behind.

When I get off of a plane, even though I am rushing to my connecting flight, I make sure I have all my belongings for this simple fact that passengers leave things of value on planes all the time.

There have been instances where I was going the give an item to a gate agent and walked through the jet bridge. As soon as I walked through the door, the passenger was frantic that she left an item. After verifying that it was hers, she gave me a big hug and then thanked me.

My word of advice to make sure you have all of your belongings as soon as the plane connects to the gate.

Here are my Top Ten things people leave on the plane according to my experience.
