WATCH: Texas & Red Dirt Artists Honor The Late Kenny Rogers

He was born in August of 1938 in Houston, TX. He passed away 81 years later in Sandy Springs, GA. In between the great Kenny Rogers touched millions of people through his music, movies, and one of entertainment's most iconic restaurants, Kenny Rogers Roasters.

We used to love getting rotisserie chicken there back when I was in high school, felt fancy.

Rogers was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013. Yesterday the Texas and Red Dirt scene stepped up to pay homage to The Gambler. Pat Green, Jason Eady, BJ Barham, Mark McKinney, and more all took a few moments to sing his songs online.
