Winter Weather Cancelling Flights At Rick Husband Airport
As of Tuesday morning (10/27/20), many flights have been cancelled in and out of Amarillo's Rick Husband International Airport. The airport's website, FLY-AMA.com is reporting only 3 departures as of 9:30am and those will all take place at 5:00pm or later. On the arrival board, there are only two flights that are not cancelled, one at 5:00pm and another at 8:38pm. However, it has been reported that some employees are saying that all air traffic in and out of the airport will be cancelled for the day.

The latest forecast from the Amarillo National Weather Service is still calling for more winter weather ahead tonight and for Wednesday. Snow, freezing rain, and sleet are all forecasted for tonight with a light snow accumulation expected in Amarillo. On Wednesday, the forecast is calling for another round of snow and a wintry mix. This could cause issues for flights on Wednesday in and out of Amarillo as well. While it is too early to see what impact the weather will have for Wednesday, you can imagine there will be at least flight delays.
