It's finally here!  One of the places we never expected to have in Amarillo is finally opening!

I would have laughed if you had told me five years ago that Buc-ee's would open in Amarillo.  Not in a million years would a company like Buc-ee's open in Amarillo.  However, I would have been wrong, because a company like Buc-ee's would open in Amarillo and it is!

Buc-ee's is hosting its Grand Opening on Monday, December 16th.  Their doors will open at 6 am and the ribbon cutting will take place at 10 am.  Oh, and you can bet that there will be a very long line to get into the door and it will be packed all day long.

Come on, y'all! You know you want to try those Beaver Nuggets and Brisket sandwiches!

In honor of the momentous occasion let's take a look at the timeline of Buc'ee's opening in Amarillo.

This is a momentous occasion in Amarillo that people are going to be talking about for decades. Buc-ee's is finally opening in Amarillo!

I was there when Buc-ee's opened in Amarillo.

 

I camped out to be the first in line and inside when Buc-ee's opened.

In my head, I'm picturing a late 80s/early 90s Black Friday rush of those busting through the doors to get to the Beaver Nuggets!  That's probably an exaggeration, but it would be so cool to witness.

This will also be the opportunity for many in the area to walk inside a Buc-ee's for the first time.  It will be a moment of wonder and awe. It is magical!
