New Buc-ee’s in Amarillo Is the Ultimate Summer Road Trip Stop

In Texas, Buc-ee's isn't just a gas station or a convenience store, it is a way of life.  One of the highlights for Amarillo in 2024 was the opening of Buc-ee's.  Originally scheduled to open in February 2025, it surprised us and opened just in time for Christmas.

For my family, anytime we went on vacation and the area had a Buc-ee's, we made sure to put that into our plans. We would always stop at Buc-ee's to stock up on the Beaver Nuggets and grab a new shirt. That was when the closest Buc-ee's was over five hours away.

With Amarillo having a Buc-ee's now, families from all over the Texas Panhandle and neighboring states can plan road trips or vacations to or through Amarillo to create long-lasting memories at Buc-ee's.

Most of us remember those special road trip stops from our childhoods. For me, that was a place called the Jolly Roger.  We would always pick up a cream soda and those vanilla wafer cream-filled cookies that had the texture of crispy cardboard. That is my vivid memory. Today, Buc-ee's can create those magical memories for our children.
