Amarillo’s Elf on the Shelf Creations Are Pure Holiday Magic
Christmas time is full of magic, and part of that magic lands in our homes shortly after Thanksgiving. It's the sudden appearance of a holiday visitor from the North Pole. It appears one night and stays through Christmas Eve, getting into all sorts of chaos and reporting back to Santa every night about the child.
The Elf on the Shelf
However, that elf never stays on the shelf. He or she is running all over the house, having fun or getting into sticky situations. This tiny visitor with a ton of energy brings giggles to our kids all over Amarillo.
Why Kids Love Their Elf Visitor
This tradition brings such joy and marvel to kids, and when they wake up each morning, they go on a mission to see what antics their elf has gotten itself into.
We took to our social media pages and asked you to share some of the shenanigans your Elf on the Shelf has gotten into this year.

What Elf on the Shelf Really Is
The Elf on the Shelf was a children's book released in 2005 by Carol Aebersold. The book is based on a tradition her family celebrated when she was a child. It featured an elf sent by Santa Claus to watch a child’s behavior. The book came with an elf, and from there the tradition spread across the world. Since 2005, these elves have been getting themselves into some Christmas trouble.

Elf Magic That Lives Beyond Christmas
It's the small things that bring joy to children during the Christmas season. The elf is one of those fun things that bring out Christmas magic. Once Santa stops by on Christmas Eve to deliver presents, the elf or elves hitch a ride back to the North Pole until they return the following year. Kids look forward to their elf all year long and eagerly await their Christmas visits.
