Construction is Coming Along on One of Amarillo’s Most Anticipated Restaurants

The one thing that most Amarillo residents agree on is the need for one particular restaurant.  A restaurant that once had over 5 locations in Amarillo slowly had none.  Somehow, the lack of this restaurant created a cult following of those who wanted this restaurant back

Long John Silver's in Amarillo, Texas

People would travel 2 hours or more just to enjoy the crispy goodness of their fish and chicken planks. Back in April, we announced that Long John Silver's was indeed coming back to Amarillo and would drop anchor just past 45th and Bell.

On May 20th, Long John Silver's officially announced it was opening in Amarillo.

A remodel of this building has been happening over the last month, and it has been moving fast.  Before you know it, a line will form around the building and will back up Bell Street because everyone will be raring for their Fish and More or the chicken planks and crunchies.

What Will the New Long John Silver's Building Look Like in Amarillo?

The building has gone from a flat windowed building to a blue and gray color with some plank paneling around the sides.  It is slowly becoming the iconic Long John Silver's.

If you glance inside the windows, you see the familiar white paneling of the Long John Silver's from days gone by.  A TikTok video by Amarillo resident Tyler True shows the current construction.

Although we don't have a confirmed date yet for the grand opening, we can see the progress being made on this long-awaited restaurant and are so glad they have come back to Amarillo.

Let's hope the new Long John Silver's will have the bell by the door so you can ring it letting them know they did well.
