When we lose a loved one, we look for anything to keep their memory close and alive.  We hang on to precious items, pictures, and clothing.  After a loved one passes away you can have special jewelry made with part of their remains or even a fingerprint.  It's a memorial you carry with you close to your heart.

Now imagine if you lost that precious piece of jewelry.  You wear it at all times to keep your loved one close, and you go to grab it and realize it is missing.  The panic sets in and you start searching all over and retracing your steps and the search seems futile, and soon the grief floods you all over again.  Not only have you lost your loved one, but you have lost that piece that you kept close to your heart to remember them.

Losing Something Special is Devastating

That is what happened to one Canyon woman.  Elise Taylor posted about her mother losing her necklace on the All Things Canyon Facebook page.  She was out shopping and running errands on January 15 and not long after returning home, she realized her necklace was missing.

Where Did She Go That Day in Amarillo/Canyon?

She had been shopping in Amarillo and Canyon, she had been to Sundown Elementary, Bangkok Tokyo on Western, and the Glass Doctor at 2515 Brittan Dr., near 26th.

The necklace is gold in the shape of a heart.  On one side it includes her late husband's fingerprint and an engraved photo on the other.

The necklace is similar to the one above but for a wife, not a daughter.  The chain also included a diamond cross and "N" charm.

The Jewelry of A Treasure's Trove And Where They Were Found

A Treasure's Trove is a book that offered clues to the location of hidden tokens throughout the United States. The book has ties to Danbury, Connecticut, and Robert Underhill, the founder of Jewelry Designs and maker of most of the jewelry featured. The tokens were hidden from sea to shining sea from Swanny City Park in Moab, Utah to Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania.
