Amarillo Wins! Lubbock On Worst Places to Live in Texas List

There seems to be this battle between Amarillo and Lubbock, and what city is the best.  Finally, I think we have the answer we have all been waiting on, and it's not Lubbock.

Moneyinc.com released the list of the 20 Worst Places to Live in Texas and Lubbock made the list.

Lubbock was number 6 on the list.  Number 6!

The reason Lubbock is on the list

The property and crime rates are even higher in this city than in some of the larger ones. The odds of becoming a violent or property crime victim are one in 16.

That's crazy.  I know Amarillo has it's issues with crime, but dang!  I don't want to be a one in 16 victim.

Yes, Lubbock is bigger than Amarillo, and they have Texas Tech University, and an HEB, but it just isn't Amarillo.

Amarillo people are friendlier and more helpful.  There's so much I love about Amarillo.  I like to visit Lubbock occasionally and spend a night or two, but I personally am glad to call Amarillo home.

If I had to choose between Lubbock and Amarillo (and I have before), Amarillo will always be my choice.

This neighborhood in Dallas, Texas is the worst place to live in the entire state. The reason that Area Vibes chose this as the number one worst is that crime rates are 243 percent higher than the national average. Hang on because it gets even worse. The rate of violent crimes that are committed in South Boulevard-Park Row is six-hundred and fifty-eight percent higher than the national average. Although the odds of becoming a crime victim are one in twelve, the risk of violent crime is much higher.
