Amazing Hot Air Balloons Rise Over Amarillo at Up in the Air

It is an Amarillo tradition that started many years ago in the parking lot of the Discovery Center and has grown to take over John Stiff Park.  It's weekend of family fun and the coolest hot air balloons.  Each year the Family Care Foundation and Happy State Bank brings Amarillo 3 days of balloons and family fun.   So mark your calendars and make plans to bring the family out to enjoy the sights of all the amazing hot air balloons.

Up in the Air for Family Care Balloon Rally

Your favorite hot air balloons return this year.  You'll see  "Annie" The Ladybug,  Joelly (the baby) Bee, and Spyderpig.  New this year you'll get to me Kermie and Simba.

Friday, September 7th at 7:30am

Flights from different areas and schools will start.  Happy State Bank on Coulter is one of the locations.

Saturday, September 8th-John Stiff Park

7:30 - 9am Sunrise Mass ascension  

Lots of breakfast food vendors and the beautiful balloons

4-9pm- Balloon Rally

Live music, lots of vendors, kids fun, and of course the Balloon glow at sunset.  All the awesome balloons will inflate and glow.  It's an amazing and beautiful sight.  Plus they will be offering tethered balloon rises for a suggested donation. Oh and I hear a rumor Jamey and Melissa with Mix Mornings will be the hosts of the event.

Sunday, September 9th

7:30 - 9am Sunrise Mass ascension  

Lots of breakfast food vendors and the beautiful balloons

All events - Weather Permitting

This event is in support of the Family Care Foundation

They provide medical care and equipment for patients and families who have a need but they cannot afford the medical service or equipment. They also provide healthcare education programs based on community service needs.
