Oh look, we're back to this again.

What is it about Amarillo and drug busts? Again, I've mentioned how I've lived in a lot of big cities, and I swear I've never seen so many drug busts in one place in my entire life.

Domingo Delgado is our latest contestant on Name That Pusher. Delgado was charged with one count related to possession with intent to distribute meth on Tuesday.

Sadly, this isn't exactly surprising news here in The 806 as it seems we've had an inordinate amount of drug busts here in the last 15 months or so.

So what did Delgado get caught with? The federal search warrant produced 3.4 KILOS of meth, 442 grams of cocaine, and 100 grams of marijuana. Oh yeah, it also turned up a 9mm gun. All of this was found in a mobile home.

Let's put this in perspective. That's just shy of 7 1/2 pounds of meth, nearly a full pound of cocaine, and almost a quarter pound of marijuana. That is an absolutely staggering amount of drugs all in one place.

So what's going on in Amarillo to where we appear to be becoming the drug capital of the country? Is it because people feel Amarillo is completely off the map and not a place people would think about checking?

I don't think that's it, especially considering police and federal agents are very aware of it in the area. Is it something to do with our commuter status as a city? I mean, maybe. Is this just a pit stop for its final destination? Or have we become something similar to an Amazon warehouse or locker for drugs?

No matter what it is, it's becoming increasingly disturbing and dangerous. It's putting a nasty stain on us as a city. How do we get this under control?
