Tri's Market was a huge Asian Market in Amarillo that offered international groceries.

The original and main location was located near Northeast 24th and Grand, and they built a brand new store at 4021 S. Washington.    The store and the market had a great selection of meats, seafood, beer, and international brands if you needed them to make a delicious Asian meal.

Tri's was the go-to store for anything Asian, and when they built a new store on Washington people were super excited to have one so close to the neighborhood.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances and the pandemic, the new Tri's Market closed just as quickly as it opened, and this beautiful new store was left empty.

Unfortunately, the building was put up for sale, and finally purchased.

In my research, I found that a company called 14 Texas Real Estate purchased the property in August 2022.  This wasn't a company I had heard of before, and I did further research.  In my research, I found that this company's address was 1201 S. Taylor.  Now, why did this particular address sound so familiar?  After further research, the agent for this particular company was Andrew Mitchell.

Andrew Mitchell, 1201 S. Taylor,  hmmm?  Then the light bulb went off!  That is the address to Toot 'n Totum's corporate office,1201 S. Taylor, and Andrew Mitchell must be a part of the Mitchell family, the family that owns Toot 'n Totum.

My speculation is, Toot 'n Totum purchased this property. If they purchased the property then they are probably planning to build a new store.  If this is true, why would they build a Toot 'n Totum in this location?  They just built a brand new store, less than a mile away from this building at 45th and Washington.

It doesn't make sense to me, but maybe that's a prime spot for a new store.  I do realize that Toot 'n Totum Stores are all over the city and very close to each other so I guess this would be a perfect place for another one.

Again this is just speculation on my part from my research.  I did reach out to Toot 'n Totum but haven't received an answer yet.

I guess we'll wait and see.
