The Amarillo Police Department was finally able to make an arrest in the incident that occurred on Friday, June 10th.

According to the original story:

The Amarillo Police Department, the incident took place in the area of SW 53rd and Oregon.  They were called out on multiple shots fired and then were directed to the apartments at 5700 Canyon Drive.  Two people were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  When arriving at the apartments police found a large party taking place.  Police unsuccessfully tried to call the suspect's outside the apartment with a PA.  The Amarillo PD CIRT team was called out as well as SWAT, negotiators, and the bomb team. Police found several weapons in the apartment where the party occurred.  Amarillo PD interviewed witnesses trying to identify the suspects.  If you have any information about this incident contact Amarillo Crimestoppers at 374-4400 or you can submit a tip at amapolice.org.

The Amarillo Police Department arrested Montreveous Pierson, an 18-year-old male, who was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assualt with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Potter County Jail.  The other person arrested was a 16-year-old male who was charged with the same and booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains.  Unfortunately, since the other was a juvenile, his name cannot be released to the public.

The incident is still being investigated.

Hopefully, Amarillo will find a way to control this crime spree our city seems to be experiencing.  It's been crazy how many gun crimes have been committed since the beginning of 2022.

Thrilled to Be There: the Smiling Mugshots of Hutchinson County

Hutchinson County has plenty of people who have committed a criminal blunder (or two). And just like any other bigger city, jail is no fun. However, some of the residents of Borger and Stinnett are believers in keeping their spirits high in the face of adversity.

Not sure what we mean?

Well....let's just say that Randall County's cheerful inmates aren't the only ones who seem happy to be arrested....While there’s nothing funny about committing a crime, these offenders in Hutchinson County certainly do know how to light up a pod with their smile :-)
