My fella and I were just driving around over the weekend.  Just to spend some time together and just explore our area.  We had dinner in Canyon at one of their local restaurants and decided to explore some areas around the city.

We took a few country roads to see the new construction.  We took other roads to see fairly newer homes and just how enormous they were, and then we ended up by the Canyon Country Club Golf Course.   When we made a curve there was a herd of deer just standing and munching grass on the golf course.

I swear at least 30 deer were just congregated enjoying dinner.  I have never seen that many deer in one location, and of all places, Canyon.  I couldn't believe it.  It was a sight to see.  Maybe I'm naïve to think wild life like that doesn't exist so close to a city.  I know they have canyon areas where animals can live and thrive, but to see them so close and here in our area.  It was just a beautiful thing to me.

As we passed that area, we would see 3 or 4 deer further down the lane.  I'll admit I have never been in this area of Canyon before and I didn't know it was even here, but now I want to explore it more.

The closer we got to the end of the golf course there was a deer just standing by the road, just staring at something, we didn't spook it.  It just stood there and let me take a picture of it.  I wish I had, had a carrot or something to share.

It was just a wonderful moment in the evening and it made me smile, and thankful for the wonderful area we live in.  I don't have to go to the mountains to see a family of deer anymore.
