Better Call Saul: Meth Was Found In A Portales Hotel Water Supply
I had to do a double take, This is one of those stories you see in the morning report when your half asleep and my first thought was "Am I still binging Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul?" It seems outlandish at first and something that you would see in a Breaking Bad/Saul Plot. Which by the way if you aren't familiar with the series, its basically the rise and fall of a teacher diagnosed with cancer who ends up becoming one of the largest meth kingpins in not only New Mexico but the Southwestern US. The reality of the story was over the weekend officials with the city of Portales, NM shut down the water supply at the Super 8 motel on US 70. No hollywood script needed.
Not Exactly The Best Stay
Imagine this, you go to the sink in your motel room and turn on the faucet only to have a piece of meth come out and hit you in the eye. According to the official report with Portales Police this is exactly what happened on Friday last week. After the officers confirmed that it was indeed meth the investigation started. It was later determined that the entire building's plumbing system had the substance in it although officials haven't released the exact amount. As a safety precaution the motel's plumbing was cut off to prevent any contamination with the rest of the city supply and to other guests
Officials with Portales stated there isn't any contamination with the city supply and it is perfectly safe to drink. While there's no signs of Heisenberg, Gus Fring or Jessie Pinkman around, The New Mexico State Police are no doubt on the case and that might just give the 3 or 4 grouches in the town of 17,000 something to talk about.
