Former Hutchinson County Sheriff Arrested for Felony Stalking

A former Texas Panhandle Sheriff has been arrested.

Former Hutchinson County Sheriff Blaik Kemp Arrested

According to the Eagle Press, Kemp was arrested and booked into the Moore County Jail after Potter County put a warrant out on the former sheriff.  The former sheriff is being charged with felony stalking.

What is the Sentence for Felony Stalking?

This particular charge is a third-degree felony and if found guilty, Kemp faces 2-10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Back in July 2023, Blaik Kemp announced that he would not be seeking re-election for Sheriff of Hutchinson County.

Kemp was the youngest person to be elected to Hutchinson County at the age of 27.  One of Kemp's main focus as sheriff was the war on drugs.

What I've tried to do is put myself out there and get input from the community and what they think could change or what needs to be changed and not just kind of come in here, bullheaded. I want the input....to learn and get some advice from them.
