How You Can Help Shape Canyon’s Road Safety Plan
If you are a resident of the City of Canyon, then you know big things are in the works for the city. The city is continuously growing, and with growth comes growing pains.
One of the main things when it comes to the city is the streets. Every city has to make sure the streets are safe, maneuverable, and up to the proper standards, and the City of Canyon is no different.
The City of Canyon cares about the safety of its streets, and that's why they are asking for the public's help in finding the areas in the city that need help.
What Is the Safe Streets and Roads for All Plan?
They have developed the Safe Streets and Roads for All Plan, or SS4A for short. They are looking to improve roadway safety, and this will serve as a roadmap for reducing crashes, addressing safety concerns, and creating a safer transportation network. This network would be safe for walking, biking, and driving.
How to Use the Interactive Map for Suggestions
The City of Canyon has created an interactive map that allows residents to place markers where they see a need for safety. This could include the need for crosswalks, new sidewalks, lights, bike lanes, a reduced speed, and a possible traffic light. If your concern is not listed, there is an "other" option.

Deadline for Public Input in Canyon
The City of Canyon will be taking resident input now through October 4, so you have plenty of time to visit the interactive map and place the marker you think each street needs. Plus, if you already see a marker, you can rate what other people have suggested.

Why Your Feedback Matters to Canyon’s Future
Once the window for input is closed, the City of Canyon will take all of the suggestions and put an action plan into place to make the streets safer for everyone.
