During a recent performance at the Grand Ole Opry, Carly Pearce debuted a new song that, she told the crowd, "is probably the most personal song that I will ever write in my career." Press play to watch fan footage of the new ballad, called "It Won't Always Be Like This."

In the song, Pearce remembers all the moments that she thought would last forever, and wishes she could go back and tell her younger self that her life will change sooner than she realizes. The singer revisits points in her life, such as the childhood and hometown she couldn't wait to grow out of, and the time as a young adult when she thought her career might never take off. Finally, the song reflects on the importance of savoring the moment, whether in love or in life, because nothing lasts forever.

Pearce has recently been teasing new material forthcoming from her second album, which she has so far only referred to as "CP2." The project will feature a duet with her husband-to-be, fellow country star Michael Ray, who says that they hadn't yet gotten engaged when they recorded the track together, and it represents the early stages of a relationship.

The singer's current single, "Closer to You," is the first taste of new music from her sophomore record, which will follow 2017's Every Little Thing. Further details of the project have not yet been announced. Meanwhile, Pearce and Ray are busily planning a wedding for the Fall of 2019, after announcing their engagement over the winter holidays of 2018.
