Carrie Underwood’s Husband, Mike Fisher, to Return to NHL
Retirement started to get tired for Mike Fisher. Carrie Underwood's husband is returning to the NHL and the Nashville Predators after a brief break.
It was just August that Fisher announced he was retiring after 17 seasons, just weeks after the Preds made a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. Around Christmas, he said, is when he started to really get the itch to come back. He was missing the game, and after talking to his wife and family — plus several current Nashville Predators — he made the decision to un-retire.
The coach of the team said the door was always open for Fisher to return, according to the Tennessean. He started skating again on Wednesday (Jan. 31) and will soon join the team, although there's no timetable for his return to game action.
During a press conference Fisher said Underwood is very supportive: "She wanted me to do it."

Underwood figures to have a busy 2018, as well. In January she shared that she had returned to the recording studio to work on her first album with UMG Nashville, her new record label. While her official website does not list any tour dates she's confirmed for WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., in early August. To some unknown degree she's also recovering from injuries sustained from a fall at home in November. She broke her wrist and received several dozen stitches to her face or head. In a letter to fans, the singer shared that she might look different the next time she's on camera.
The Predators are currently in second place in the Western Conference's Central Division. If the playoffs started today, the team would be tied for the No. 3 seed. Last year they were the No. 8 seed in route to a trip to their first trip to Finals.
