Organic Carrot Recall Sweeps Texas and U.S. Amid E. Coli Concerns

Let's face it we do our best to eat healthy when we can, and the way we do that is through vegetables.  One of the popular snaking vegetables is carrots and most people who are eating healthy choose the organic variety.  Unfortunately, if you love carrots and have them in your fridge you might want to check them before eating them.

Grimmway Farms has issued a recall on their select organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots.  They believe that the carrots have been contaminated with E. coli.

E. coli According to the CDC

Escherichia coli are bacteria found in the environment, foods, and intestines of people and animals. E. coli are a large and diverse group of bacteria. Although most strains of E. coli are harmless, others can make you sick. Some kinds of E. coli can cause diarrhea, while others cause urinary tract infections, respiratory illness and pneumonia, and other illnesses.

The organic carrots included in the recall were shipped across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.   These products are no longer in grocery stores but could be in your refrigerator or freezer.   The Organic whole carrots were available for purchase from August 14 - October 23, 2024.  The Organic baby carrots have a best if used by dates of September 11 - November 12, 2024.

If you happen to have the recalled organic carrots in your fridge or freezer, do not eat them. Throw them away.
