Amarillo has seen some changes in convenience stores over the last few years.  The Station was sold and became Curby's, and then Cefco down the road was sold and became Casey's.  With that change, we found out that Casey's General Store is taking over the Texas Panhandle.

Casey's Is Converting Cefco Stores Across the Texas Panhandle

The latest Cefco station to change to Casey's is in Panhandle, bringing the breakfast pizza. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, renovations are to start at the end of June at 512 US Hwy 60.

What the Panhandle Location Renovation Includes

The remodel will include new walk-in coolers, kitchen rework, ADA upgrades, roof work, and related MEP work. The estimated completion date is December 15, 2026. The cost of the project is expected to be $550,000.

When Will the Panhandle, Texas Casey's Location Open?

We reached out to Casey's, and a representative said the Panhandle location has a tentative open date of July, depending on how construction goes in June.

This will be a great addition to the small town of Panhandle. They'll get to experience the Casey's breakfast pizza. That pizza is worth gold.

When Will the New Casey's Locations Open?

​Casey's is currently set to open in Claude on Thursday, May 28. Residents of Claude and travelers coming through will soon experience the delicious breakfast pizza and other great offerings Casey's brings.

The new store at 1917 Bell Street in Amarillo is set for an August opening. Casey's is also opening a new store at the corner of Loop 335 and Bell Street, and at our last check-in, that store was still in the permitting process.

In 2024, Casey's General Store purchased over 140 Cefco stores. The transition from Cefco to Casey's has been happening ever since. The Casey's on I-27 opened in February 2026.
