Christmas Magic Shines Bright in Canyon: Parades, Lights, and Festive Traditions Await
It's the most wonderful time of the year, and with this time of year, comes fun Christmas events that the entire family will love.
Canyon, Texas turns into Christmas central every single year with a ton of Christmas activities.
Don't Miss Christmas in Canyon!
Many of the fun festivities will kick off on Wednesday, December 4th with West Texas A&M University. President Wendler and his wife invite all WT Students, faculty, staff, and the Canyon community to their annual Christmas reception from 4:30 pm - 6 pm in Legacy Hall.
Festival of Lights
The Festival of Lights will be held at Buffalo Fountain on the WT campus.
Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum Christmas Open House Winter Wonderland
Saturday, December 7th - 10 am - 4 pm
Bring the entire family out for a day of fun and learning. Storytellers will be telling Christmas stories throughout the museum. Enjoy the melodious sounds of Christmas carols floating through the Derrick Room from local children's choirs and entertainers. Create the most amazing Christmas cookie at the Cookie Station, and take amazing family photos.
Oh, did we forget? SANTA!!!!
Santa will be visiting with the children in the snowy woods of the Hazlewood Lecture Hall.
The event is free; however, we suggest a donation of one can of food per person for the High Plains Food Bank.
Santa Paws 12-3 pm - Canyon Square
The WT Vet Club will be taking care of your furry Friends!
Canyon Lions Club Visits With Santa 4-6 pm - Canyon Square
Bring the kids for hot chocolate and Santa. The line will cut off at 5:30 pm because Santa has to get ready for the parade!
Music By Canyon ISD Choirs 4-6:30 pm - Canyon Square
Come hear melodious Christmas carols by these talented kids!
Parade of Lights!
Saturday, December 7th - 6:30 pm in Downtown Canyon
The parade will travel down 4th Avenue to Canyon Downtown Square then back up 5th Ave. ending at the First United Methodist Church parking lot.
WT Chamber Singers' Christmas Concert
Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 pm, Northern Recital Hall - Admission Free
WT School of Music's Annual Holiday Concert
Walking in the Air - Saturday, December 8th - 4 and 7 pm
The concerts are sold out but will be broadcast on Panhandle PBS on Christmas Eve at 8 pm and Christmas Day at 9 pm.
