I don't know how many times I heard that Covid would be over as soon as November 4th. I thought that was ridiculous from the first time I heard it. I still do. Guess what? November 4th was yesterday and as far as I can tell Covid is still a thing. Am I right?

Well of course the numbers are still pretty high here in Amarillo. The hospitalization rates are just sky rocketing. We are having to take extra precautions here in Amarillo. One of the things Amarillo is doing is closing the City of Amarillo buildings to the public.

So one of the things you won't be able to do is pay your water bill in person. You will need to make sure it is paid online or by mail. If you do any kind of work with the City of Amarillo you will need to keep communication open by phone calls and emails.

The city is making sure their employees are wearing masks and limiting the face-to-face interactions. I get it. I really do. We have made the same decision here at the radio station too. We have decided to continue mailing out prizes so we can limit people from coming into our building.

So here we are and the elections are kind of over but yet the numbers of people in the hospital are still on the rise. So we need to make sure we continue to do our part. It's like we are still back in the month of March when we were learning how to deal with this virus. It is still the same. Wear a mask, wash your hands, keep six feet away from everyone.

We want this over and the only way we will be able to call it a day is to follow the protocols set up. I knew this wouldn't magically disappear the day after the election. So let's all work on this together.
