Another great country music artist is making his way to Amarillo.

Corey Kent has been writing and performing most of his life and perfecting his live shows for over 15 years. At the young age of 11, he was the lead singer for a Western Swing band. He even opened up for legends like Roy Clark (from HeeHaw Fame), and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Growing up in Oklahoma, Corey Kent has been surrounded by some of the greatest Texas/Red Dirt Artists including the Randy Rogers Band and even Willie Nelson. Corey Kent has also drawn inspiration from some of the greatest artists in history including, The Eagles, Keith Richards, Turnpike Troubadours, and many more.

Corey Kent released his first album From the West, and hit huge milestones with the amount of streams the album and songs received. In 2021, his second album 21. Then on March 4, 2022, Corey Kent released the single Wild As Her, and not long after he signed with Sony Music Nashville. In 2023, he toured with Parker McCollum and Jason Aldean. In 2024 he is making his way to Amarillo.

30 Country Stars You Won't Believe Aren't Grand Ole Opry Members

Fifteen living CMA or ACM Entertainers of the Year are not members of the Grand Ole Opry, and a few of them barely recognize the vaunted stage. George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Willie Nelson are three legends who rarely play the Grand Ole Opry. Why?

That answer is often difficult to determine, but this list suggests reasons where appropriate. Membership into the Grand Ole Opry comes with an obligation to play the show frequently, but that's often set aside (Barbara Mandrell is an inactive member, for example). Only living artists are considered, and once a member dies, they are no longer a member.

For that reason, we've not included any country legends who've passed. That eliminates Toby Keith.

As of 2023, there are more than 70 members of the Grand Ole Opry. Historically, nearly 250 men, women and groups were members — so, it's a select group that excludes several Country Music Hall of Famers.
