Amarillo’s Getting a New Extended Stay Hotel In an Odd Location
Amarillo has seen some major growth in hotels. The reason for the are on I-40 and the only bigger city between Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Albuquerque.
It makes sense to have a lot of choices to stay when traveling.
It also makes a lot of sense to have places to stay when locals need a place. This past few weeks are a prime example, with the flooding and many people having to find a place to stay after being displaced from their homes.
Amarillo is getting a new Everhomes Suites.
According to paperwork filed with state agencies, the new hotel will be located at 11 Care Circle.
This piece of land is big enough for a hotel. This location seems a bit odd because it is nothing but medical buildings. There is one way in and one way out of this area. It's possible it might be going into this location for those having medical procedures in the neighborhood, but at the same time, it just seems to be an odd location. If you're looking for a hidden, more private location for a hotel, this would be it.
The construction start date will be July 2023 with a competition date of September 2024.
This is a new extended stay, but a little different. According to the Choice Hotel website the new Everhome Suites will have:
- Spacious studio and one-bedroom apartment-style layouts, featuring a combination of defined spaces that separate work from play and customizable “me” space with: Full-size closet and additional open and closed storage so guests can stay organized for the days ahead. Pet-friendly options so guests can bring their favorite companions on the road.
- Fully equipped kitchens to support guests’ health and wellness lifestyles, including: Full-sized refrigerators, dishwashers, stovetops, microwaves, flatware, cookware and plenty of counter space.
- Modern and sophisticated public spaces, including Multipurpose lobby areas, fully outfitted fitness centers with cardio and strength training equipment and guest laundry facilities. 24/7 self-service marketplaces with a variety of hot and cold breakfast options. Outdoor pools in some markets.
According to the media relations for Choice Hotels,
This area was selected due to the fact that the site has a number of demand drivers that support extended stay hotels such as a regional medical hub, diversified business (agriculture, food technology, logistics, and manufacturing corporations), and a strong growth trajectory—the city has recently attracted a number of new companies. We anticipate that construction will begin later this summer.
This definitely looks like it will be a great place to stay for those traveling or staying for medical reasons.
