Follow the Horses to Canyon for a Cowboy Twist on the Birth of Jesus
If you're looking to add a country Christmas tradition to your list, then you must mark your calendar for the Palo Duro Cowboy Church's Cowboy Nativity.
The PDCC will be telling the birth of Jesus Christ in a unique way. It's the story of Christ's birth if he had been born during the days of the working cowboy. Enjoy driving through different scenes of what might have happened the night Christ was born.
Real people and animals will make up over a dozen stations at the event. Mary and Joseph will arrive on horseback, the wise men are made up of Cowboys and Indians. Not only will you enjoy those features, but the woman at the well will be represented and a circuit rider will be shown. Each station in the nativity will be tied to a verse in the Bible.
The Cowboy Nativity will take place on Friday, December 17th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The only change this year is that the event is for one-night only. You'll need to mark it on your calendar so you don't miss it. The event is free to attend, and best of all, the Cowboy Nativity is drive-thru which means you don't have to leave the comfort and warmth of your vehicle. Plus, you and your passengers will get to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies as your drive-thru the nativity. Not only that you'll receive a guide to show you what each station is about and it's meaning to the story.
The Palo Duro Cowboy Church is located at 12200 W. Highway 60, three miles directly west of Canyon.
