This is a fun time of year in Amarillo. The Christmas season is just the perfect time for giving. Giving a home is a Christmas tradition.

Now I don't mean giving away an actual home, but giving a home to a cat.

Why Christmas Is a Great Time to Adopt a Cat

Christmas kitties are the perfect holiday gift for your own family. I gave my son his cat, Astro, when he was almost 3 years old. They grew up together until Astro passed away last year.  It was a heartbreaking day; he had an amazing life. He wanted for nothing.  My son still tells me that it was the best Christmas gift he ever received.

What AAMW Offers With Each Adoption

This means you can adopt a cat for free. The great thing about adopting a cat from AAMW is that they are already spayed or neutered, have received their vaccines, and are microchipped.

If you have dreamed of having a new cat in your home, now's the time to go and check out all the cats up for adoption. You can find the available cats here. This adoption event is for cats only.

How to Visit Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare

The AAMW is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 am - 6 pm, and is located at 3501 S. Osage.
