George Strait scored his 27th No. 1 album with his March 29 release Honky Tonk Time Machine. The project continues Strait's run as the artist with the most No. 1 albums on the Top Country Albums chart.

Honky Tonk Time Machine, Strait's 30th studio album, contains 13 tracks, eight of which the King of Country Music co-wrote. Strait also co-produced the project with Chuck Ainley. The record's first single, "Every Little Honky Tonk Bar," is currently in the Top 20 on the country charts.

Strait celebrated Honky Tonk Time Machine's release at the 2019 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 7) as well. He performed three times throughout the ceremony: two solo songs from his new album, and the 2001 track "Run" with Miranda Lambert.

Strait has not toured since concluding his Cowboy Rides Away Tour in June of 2014, but he's kept his Las Vegas residency, Strait to Vegas, at the city's T-Mobile Arena, going since 2016. In 2019, he's expanded to one-off shows outside of Sin City as well: Strait recently played RodeoHouston and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
