Golden Spread Farmers Market Brings Fresh, Locally Grown Produce To Amarillo

The best kind of fruits and vegetables are the ones that you grow right in your back yard.  But who has the time to garden these days.  Now you don't have to.  A little trip to the Sunset Center will get you garden fresh produce.

Tuesday morning the Sunset Center was filled with people buying some of the freshest fruits and vegetables in Amarillo.  The Golden Spread Farmers Market has been providing some of the best, locally grown fruits and vegetables for as long as I have lived here.

If you have never been, you are missing out.

Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday local farmers get up at the break of dawn and haul their produce down to the Sunset Center.  Here you can find everything imaginable.  Squash, green beans, okra, corn are just a few of the vegetables they have to offer.

If you love fruits, you can find everything from watermelon to blackberries, peaches to cantaloupe, strawberries to tomatoes.  And the best part is all this produce is grown by local farmers.

The sellers at the farmers market have tables and tables of produce to choose from.  But you might want to get up early so you can get the first pick.  A pretty good crowd gathers to take advantage of these great buys.

Tomorrow or Saturday, I encourage you to get up early and go support your local farmers.  You won't be disappointed in the friendliness or the awesome produce.
