Some folks set aside their diets between Thanksgiving and New Years, After turkey day, there are Christmas parties to attend. Food starts showing up at the office, and some are baking, frying, and stirring up their own concoctions to give away as gifts.

My friend Fermin Watts shows up several times a year, with what he calls "Watt Sauce." His homemade salsa always comes with a bag of chips. It's some of the best homemade hot sauce, I've ever tasted and I'm always looking forward to seeing him, because, I know it's gonna be good.

My wife Judy, has learned to make something that tastes exactly like Bailey's Irish Cream. I mean, just like it. She pours it into to Mason jars and gives it away at Christmas.

I have another friend, who makes the world's best sausage balls. Still, another makes homemade " 'shine." Our wonderful listeners send us homemade cookies, bread, and candy.

As much as I love getting electronic gadgets and books at Christmas, I love the homemade gifts more. Someone took the time, to MAKE something for me. It never goes unappreciated or un-eaten.

What do you get someone who has everything?  Something you made, yourself. It can't be bought elsewhere, and it was made especially for you.
