How to Prepare for a Cold Texas Winter

In areas like Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle, you can expect lots of snow and ice in the winter.  The winters are mild in areas like Corpus Christi, Galveston, and Houston.  You never know what the DFW area will see, you can expect both snow, ice, and mild weather.

If we learned anything from the Winter Storm 2021, it is to be prepared.  When the grid went down in Texas it became a natural disaster.  The entire state was covered in snow and ice from the tip of the Texas Panhandle to the tip of south Texas. Those on the ERCOT grid didn't have power for days some for weeks.   Texans not familiar with a big winter storm were not prepared and people suffered.

It's always important to be prepared for anything in a winter storm.  No one expected the disaster that the winter storm in 2021 brought to the Lonestar State.  However, we all learned that you can never be to prepared.
