Seriously, There Is Pickleball In Canyon, Texas

There really are pickleball courts. It's true. However, the opening of the courts had to be delayed because of a slight issue with a key component of all public "courts."

The lights.

A correction was issued on social media after the announcement was made that the courts were open. Apparently, there was an issue with the lights. That issue would need to be addressed before the courts were officially open for your pickleballing enjoyment.

Typing that just feels...odd. Pickleball is such an unfortunate name for a sport.

The Abandoned School House Outside of Canyon, Texas

This was once the Jowell School. Built in 1901, the building was the cornerstone of the teeny tiny farming community of Jowell.

The building had been rebuilt and restored in the late '80s or 90s before vandals destroyed it in an act of arson. What remains of the Jowell School sits in a desolate part of rolling farmland between the small towns of Canyon and Happy, Texas.
