Amarillo Buc-ee’s Changes Sign After We Noticed Something Was Off
The power of calling someone out is strong in Amarillo. The one thing I know about Amarillo is that we end up wanting to have correct information out there. We love having Buc-ee's in our town. We love the endless supplies of Beaver Nuggets and BBQ sandwiches.
The thing is, even the most powerful of Buc-ee's can make mistakes. Or maybe the sign company installed the wrong vinyl. I am not sure what happened, but recently we discovered a sign that just didn't add up.
It wasn't a serious mistake, but just one that caused a few chuckles. I figured the sign would run its course and then be taken down. The sign by Camelot Inn in Amarillo that said it was three miles from Buc-ee's, which was not correct, only because of the sign almost directly across the street saying something else.

It was just less than a couple of weeks ago when we pointed out the mistake, so imagine my surprise when I drove by the other day and the sign was already down. It wasn't up that long, so I never expected that response already.
Buc-ee's Made The Math Correct in Amarillo
They updated the message to let us know that they are, in fact, open. It doesn't matter when you want to stop, their doors will be unlocked. They are open twenty-four hours for hungry travelers. Buc-ee's is one thing we love about being on the road in Texas.
The important part is the sign that was once there, stating it was three miles from Buc-ee's. This new sign has the correct math and states Buc-ee's is five miles ahead.
I love that Buc-ee's made the change. I love that we have the power. I am sure someone pointed it out to them. Maybe it was us, maybe it wasn't. I'm just thrilled that it is correct.

It reminds me of when we had some cryptic political signs in Amarillo. I called them out, saying something about making the sign say "Melissa, Please Run"
What is going on Amarillo? Maybe if I see the billboard say "Melissa, please run" I will now be mixed up in all of this.
Someone saw it and didn't disappoint:
Someone is always watching. Someone is always paying attention. Thank you, Buc-ee's, for giving us this win and giving us something to laugh and talk about. Thank you, Buc-ee',s for being here.
