If you're a pet owner, then you know that when you're looking for a place, renting opportunities can drastically drop- or increase- depending on where you're looking. In order to determine which states have pet friendly landlords, the experts at Dog Friendly Co., who are also experts at lifetime warranty pet products, analyzed Zillow rental listings across all 50 states to determine which locations offer the most opportunities for renters with pets.
Altogether, the study found that the South and West regions generally offer more options for pet owners, while Northeast states tend to have more restrictive policies.
How Pet-Friendly is Texas?
Dog Friendly Co. determined that not only Texas but Colorado and North Carolina are the best states for you to find a pet-friendly rental opportunity. Texas ranks second with 72.1% of rental listings welcoming all pets! The Lone Star State offers the largest number of pet-friendly rental properties in terms of sheer volume, with 123,212 properties accepting all pets out of 170,858 total listings.
Hawaii and Alaska are the least pet-friendly states, with only 16.3% and 27.5% of rentals accepting pets, respectively.
If you're considering moving with your furry companion, then you have better chances of finding a place you'll both love in any of the states from above!
