Amarillo’s Popular Crafting Store Faces Uncertain Future
Amarillo is a city full of crafters and when it comes to crafting you have to have the spots to buy all your supplies. It makes it convenient when that store is in your town.
With the state of the economy these days, certain businesses are struggling, and long-time places are closing their doors. Amarillo has lost a few long-time businesses in the last few years.

Recently JOANN Fabrics and Crafts announced that they will be closing down over 500 stores. For those who craft, this is a blow especially if JOANN is their favorite crafting store.
JOANN is Not Closing the Amarillo Store
That's the great news. For those in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle who love to craft and shop at JOANN, the store is safe. However, 17 stores in Texas will be saying goodbye to JOANN.

For those cities that are losing their JOANN stores, you can still shop online at joann.com.
JOANN's released a statement concerning the closures.
As part of the ongoing Chapter 11 process and our efforts to maximize the value of the business, JOANN has filed a motion seeking court authority to begin closing approximately 500 stores across the nation. This was a very difficult decision to make, given the major impact we know it will have on our Team Members, our customers and all of the communities we serve. A careful analysis of store performance and future strategic fit for the Company determined which stores should remain operating as usual at this time. Right-sizing our store footprint is a critical part of our efforts to ensure the best path forward for JOANN
Hopefully, JOANN will be able to continue. Last year Big Lots said it was closing down a few stores, then ended closing the company completely.
