Just west of Amarillo is Bushland. Although Bushland is a growing area, there are very few places for those who live in the community to shop, eat, and hang out. The one place many people eat and hang out is Joe's Pizza and Pasta.

A Bushland Staple for 13 Years

Joe's Pizza and Pasta has been a Bushland staple for over 13 years. Bilall Haliti opened the restaurant in Bushland and previously ran Joe's in the Coronado Shopping Center at 34th and Bell in Amarillo.

Joe's Pizza and Pasta Closes October 4

Now he's retiring. The Haliti family will be closing Joe's Pizza and Pasta on October 4th.

To our Bushland family, 13 years of your support, loyalty, and love means everything to us. You’ve been more than customers. You’ve been family.

However, this isn't the end of pizza and pasta in Bushland. Another well-known business will be opening another location in the Joe's Pizza and Pasta building.

Giovanni's Pizzeria & Tavern Takes Over the Building

According to a Facebook post, Giovanni's Pizzeria will open in Bushland, taking over the building at 19151 I-40 Frontage Rd, and will be called Giovanni's Pizzeria & Tavern.

We’re so excited to finally announce that we are officially expanding to Bushland! We’ve purchased the Joe’s Pizza & Pasta storefront, and on November 1st, we will open the doors as Giovanni’s Pizzeria & Tavern!

What's Staying the Same at the New Spot

For those who are sad that Joe's is closing, not all is lost. Giovanni's will be keeping a piece of Joe's alive. They plan on including some of Joe's best pastas. Not only will they be serving those at the store in Bushland, but they will also be serving Joe's pastas at the store in Amarillo, 5807 SW 45th.

What to Expect When Giovanni's Opens

Giovanni's will have dine-in in Bushland, plus delivery in the area and a drive-through for pickup.

They will also be serving beer and wine at the restaurant in Bushland.

Giovanni's plans to use the month of October to remodel the building, train, and get everything ready for their grand opening on November 1.
