Craig Morgan has drawn support from all of country music with his powerful new song "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost," including from his good friend Luke Bryan.

Backstage at the Grand Ole Opry last month, Bryan reflected on his years of friendship with Morgan and how they bonded over their love of the outdoors and the tragic losses they've both experienced.

Morgan wrote "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" in honor of his son Jerry, who died in a tubing accident on the Tennessee River in July 2016, at the age of 19. Bryan has experienced many losses of his own, including the death of his brother, sister, infant niece and his brother-in-law.

"Craig and I through the years have just been real close," Bryan shared with Taste of Country and other media at the Opry Goes Pink event benefiting the Susan G. Women Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "Obviously Craig has experienced loss and me too, and I reached out to him when their tragedy happened. Now that he has a song that's he's written about it, it just feels amazing."

Morgan was also performer on the lineup for Opry Goes Pink. Bryan had nothing for praise for his friend, also expressing remorse for the tragedy that inspired it.

"I told Craig backstage, 'Man, I'm happy for you, but I hate you were in a situation to write the song,' and we had a moment there," Bryan shares, "But always respected Craig's music because it's always been country ... Craig's just always been a great song guy."

Blake Shelton is also a loyal supporter of the moving song — he even made it his personal mission to get "The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost" to the top of the charts. Kelly Clarkson too threw her support behind the song, inviting Morgan to perform it on her talk show, which resulted in a surprise guest appearance by Shelton.
