If there's one thing a good songwriter can do -- it's recognize a great song, regardless of its genre. Luke Combs showed that he has an ear for that particular talent when he chose to cover a song live in concert by pop sensation Ed Sheeran, giving the tune a distinctly country flavor while keeping its bones intact.

Combs chose one of Sheeran's lesser-known songs, "Dive," to perform on stage at Tabernacle Atlanta Thursday night (Nov. 30). A fan caught the magical performance and posted to social media, noting: "All I can say is WOW! Absolutely speechless."

We'd have to agree with that opinion, especially since the pretty and affecting song isn't necessarily an obvious choice from Sheeran's catalog. Sheeran's "Dive" is from his third album ÷, which was released in March and gained massive attention for hits "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill." The song "Dive" was not released as an official single, but did manage to chart at No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart.

It's clear Combs likes to play live, and that's a good thing as the "When It Rains It Pours" singer has extended his first-ever headlining tour into 2018. Combs' Don't Tempt Me With a Good Time Tour will relaunch in the spring of 2018 with a 25-date run, including a two-night debut at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Ashley McBryde will join Combs as an opener during the 2018 tour.
