Matthew McConaughey has not officially thrown his hat in the ring for Texas governor, yet.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, rumors are buzzing about McConaughey making a possible run for governor, but nothing is set in stone right now.

But if he does run he will be a force to be reckoned with and already has Ted Cruz worried and hoping he doesn't run, and has Greg Abbott on the political offensive.

McConaughey has been toying with the idea of running for about six months or so and already has some big name donors ready to put money into his run for governor.

McConaughey would join such famous actors that became governors as Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger but those two were governors of California, McConaughey would be the first actor to become governor of Texas, if it happened.

He would be the most fun governor of all the 50 state governors but he would be slumming it in the Governor's Mansion since it is possible his West Austin house is a lot nicer than the governor's place.

Alright, alright, alright, he does have some arrests in his past honored in his accessory at this past weekend's Austin FC game which he appeared with a leprechaun green suit and bongos in honor of his 1999 Austin arrest for marijuana possession.

It is not sure what party he will run with at this time, but it is a very good possibility that Texas would legalize marijuana if McConaughey were elected governor, which I am sure would scare the wits out of most Republicans in the state.

We will see how this all goes in the upcoming months.
