It's that time of year when we celebrate our independence in America. Canyon, Texas celebrates big with two days of celebration. This year is no different and all the fun kicks off on July 3rd with a big concert.

Kickin' It In Canyon is relocating from the parking lot of the First United Bank Center on the WT Campus to the new venue, The Lumberyard.
One of the biggest 4th of July celebrations in the Texas Panhandle is in Canyon.

Mike Ryan
Mike Ryan was surrounded by music throughout his life, growing up in San Antonio. His grandfather directed the Texas National Guard Band and gave Ryan the opportunity to learn various instruments. Ryan was exposed to a diverse range of music genres, from The Eagles to Elton John, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and Tim McGraw. The first song he learned to play was by Bob Seger.
Mike Ryan began his music career and made a name for himself in the Texas music scene before entering college. He soon became a regular performer at Billy Bob's Texas. Ryan released The First One in 2010, followed by Night Comes Falling in 2012. In 2014, after signing with Sea Gayle Music, he released Bad Reputation.
In 2016, Ryan released New Hometown. Followed by Blink You'll Miss It in 2017
In 2022, Ryan released the album Longcut.
Ryan has had 9 number 1 songs on the Texas Music Charts and Blink You'll Miss It was #15 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and #40 on the Billboard's Independent Albums Chart.
Mike Ryan has packed out venues during his career and will be playing live kicking off the Independence Day Celebration in Canyon.
