Amarillo even has its own Film Commission. As time moves on, the citizens of Amarillo will start to see more and more movies being filmed in the Amarillo area. In fact, filming of a movie about homelessness will soon start production in the Amarillo area.

A movie called Down the Arm of God will be filmed in the Texas Panhandle.

The movie follows a young pastor named Nick while he navigates the community of a small Texas town, and strives to help an encampment of homeless people escape the harsh and dangerous winter.

CASTING CALL for Down the Arm of God

They are looking for a person to play a specific role in the movie:

Black/African American Woman
Experience with homelessness
Age: between 19-36 years old.

Character Description: RAVEN

Raven is a resilient and empathetic woman who has faced homelessness firsthand. She views herself as an advocate for those living on the streets, caring for the chronically homeless and fellow neighbors as if they were family. Raven is known for her proactive nature, her ability to motivate, and her sometimes candid demeanor. She possesses a quick wit, and a dark sense of humor, and embodies the spirit of a warrior while maintaining the playfulness of a child and the wisdom of an old soul.

They are looking for individuals who can bring authenticity to this vital role.

The role pays $2,500 per week for 5 weeks.
