New Truck Stop/Convenience Store Moving Into Amarillo

The look of I-40 coming into Amarillo from the east side is about to look a lot different with all of the new businesses coming into town.

A new business is making its way into Amarillo.  I spoke with KJ McCann, Digital & Loyalty Marketing Manager for Road Ranger and she told me that they have recently purchased land.

Their Amarillo location will be located on the North West quadrant of I-40 (exit 77) and South Pullman Road.

This project is still in the bidding and permitting process, so a tentative opening date is not available just yet, but once approved we will announce it publicly.  We are anxious to break ground and plans will move forwards quickly, as soon as we can gather all bids and all permitting is completed.

If all goes well, the Road Ranger should be complete and open summer of 2023.

The Amarillo store will tie in with the expansion north of Lubbock (Store 284 New Deal TX) and other projects east and west on I-40.

Road Ranger will be a full-sized modern travel center with high-end travel center amenities.  They will also have EV charges from Freewire included on the site.   The location will also include a Church's Chicken and Dickey's BBQ.  The Amarillo Road Ranger will have a dog park for your furry friends, and a community rest area.

Will Road Ranger be competitive with its gas prices or do you offer rewards?

Although prices are crazy now, we do have a brand new program that we just rolled out in September of last year. It's the Ranger rewards program. So it ties in with our ranger debit card, which is a debit card that links automatically to your bank account. Once you use that Ranger debit card, you instantly get five cents off per gallon with no cap. But then you tie it to your loyalty card, you just put in your loyalty card number at the pump, and then it knocks off an additional three cents per gallon so you get a total of eight cents off per gallon unlimited.  This is for for auto drivers.

We offer a tier program for our professional drivers, based on diesel gallons fueled. This will allow them to redeem points in-store for discounts and free items!

McCann also said, we recently partnered with a NASCAR driver, Ty Majeski, and are running sweepstakes to win trips to NASCAR Races/Weekend giveaways. We have sweepstakes running every month.
