Pillsbury is Now Selling Cornbread in a Can and it Looks Great
When I say cornbread in a can, what is the first thought that comes to mind? For me, it was "what is this even going to look like?" Yeah, I really wasn't sure what a canned loaf of cornbread was going to look like when you plopped it out of the can. However, as I started reading more about it, the better it started to sound.
The folks at Pillsbury have introduced Cornbread Swirls (in a can). But when you think of can, think more like the traditional twist and pop can that Pillsbury sells and less like a can of beans. In fact if you have ever had Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, they have the same exact shape. The cornbread is "swirled" in the way that it looks like a sheet that was rolled and wrapped. Each can comes with 6 pre-cut rolls and takes just 20 minutes to bake.
Now, this isn't the first time that Pillsbury has experimented with cornbread. Back in the late 1980's they had cornbread twists. Here is the commercial for the product at the time:
Back to the new Cornbread Swirls, if you go to the Pillsbury website, they have a host of recipes you can use with the can of cornbread that sounds awesome. Cornbread hot dogs, beef chili cornbread bake, bacon and pepper jack cornbread swirls, even BBQ beef and cornbread casserole. So what do you think? Will you try them now? If you do, drop me a line and let me know what you think.
